The Anasazi tribe lived in the houses in the picture above. The Anasazi people would build buildings and homes in the cliffs, as a place were the tribe could live. They were given the name Cliff Dwellers, because they built their homes on cliffs. They did this so when their enemies would attack, all they would have to do is pull up the ladders and they were all safe from harm. The Anasazi didn't always live in the sides of cliffs. They first started living on the desert floor in domed huts. Domed huts were built with thatched grasses and held off the ground with a supporting limb or stick.
Arts
The Anasazi had left many artifacts behind, like Baskets and Pottery. The Anasazi were amazing basket makers even before they moved to the Southwestern Region. The style and design of the pottery are hidden clues about the person who make the pottery. In the pictures below shows how great these people were at making baskets and pottery.
Religion
The Anasazi tribe did rituals and ceremonies. They would also worship some gods. That is all we know about the Anasazi, because there is no written record.
Weapons
They weren't warlike people and didn't have any weapons to use in wars, but they did have hunting and fishing tools. They used hunting tools like a Bow and Arrow for killing large or small animals. They also used fishing tools like Snares and Nets for catching all kinds of fish.
Clothing
There wasn't much clothing left over that was found, because their cloths were so perishable. They made their cloths by weaving cotton. They would weave blankets, shirts, robes, aprons, kilts, breechcloths, socks, and belts. They also made their own shoes like sandals, moccasins, and possibly snowshoes.
The Anasazi Tribe Now
There is not an Anasazi Tribe anymore, that is alive or known. The last time any one saw the Anasazi tribe was in 1200's, and now all that is left is their housing and some artifacts. There are now only three tribes left from the Southwest Region. The tribes left are the Hopi, Zuni, and Pueblos.
